Alejandro Junyao Zhang 张钧尧 @alejandro_zhang is a queer, Chinese interdisciplinary artist. Zhang works across 3D animation, experimental video, electronic music and performance. In his work, Zhang creates club simulations where he performs DJ sets, showcasing China's queer club scene.
Through 3D animation and digital material, Zhang builds psychedelic virtual spaces, offering an alternate public space for queer people, where they can be free to speak, interact and connect digitally.
Zhang is currently working on a project with the Italian postmodernist artist Simone Forti, reperforming her piece "Cloths" (1967) at Walker Arts Center, Minneapolis.
