Xie Kaiyan 谢开颜 @xiekaikai_ (1994) is a Chinese photographer based in Beijing and Toronto. Xie works across photography, installation and performance art. Her project 'Be a Lady' explores the objectification and stereotypes of women in modern society.

I've personally experienced discrimination such as objectification by close family members. This experience opened my eyes to the broader everyday discrimination women experience.
